Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast Review

Choosing where to dine at Walt Disney World can be a daunting task as there are so many choices across the parks and resorts! It is our goal each trip to try at least one new restaurant, so on our most recent vacation, we tried the character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace and it did not disappoint!

The biggest question I get asked about character dining experiences like this is… “Is it worth it?” So here’s our experience and honest review of Topolino’s Terrace.

Where is Topolino’s Terrace?

Topolino’s Terrace is located at the Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World. This is the newest resort on property, inspired by the French Riviera. Walt had a soft spot for that part of the world and loved taking family vacations there, so you will see sweet touches of old family pictures, and a combination of European elegance with the whimsy and magic of Disney stories you know and love. We explored the resort grounds after our meal, and it is truly one of the most breathtaking resorts!

First things first…You do not have to be staying at a specific resort to enjoy their table service dining. So long as you have a reservation (something I help all of my clients with), you are welcome to enjoy it too.

Which characters do you meet?

During our visit, we got to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck, all in their adorable, French-inspired outfits! One of the many reasons we love the character dining experiences is the characters come to your table for personal interactions…no waiting in long lines to meet them!

This makes character dining a great way to meet several of the classic characters at once. Please note: the character dining at Topolino’s Terrace is only during breakfast. During dinner hours, it is not a character dining experience and is considered a signature dining meal (in other words, it’s fancy if you go at dinner).

What’s Included

With table service dining, there’s a few different “styles…” buffet, family style, prix-fixe. For Topolino’s Terrace at breakfast, it is a set price per adult and children ages 3-9. Each person can choose 1 entreé from the menu. Most drinks and juices (excluding alcohol) are included in the price, as well as an “appetizer” of croissants and muffins to enjoy while waiting for your main dish.

Pricing is always subject to change, so check the Walt Disney World app for the most up-to-date pricing. Please note: This is where the Disney Dining Plan (available beginning January 9th, 2024) is SO nice to have! It’s paid for (other than gratuities) before you even get there, so you don’t have to worry about the price tag. Just enjoy your meal!

Our Review on Food & Experience

While buffets tend to give you the most “bang for your buck,” I believe the food is a bit better and more of an elevated experience when you are ordering off a menu like this. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking a good buffet!) The offerings here were unique and delicious, portion sizes generous, and we all loved it. My oldest son has a gluten allergy, and they were able to accommodate him with both the pastries and meal itself, and he was very pleased!

Here’s what we enjoyed:

Dad: French Toast Brûleé

Mom: Sour Cream Waffles

Kai: Gluten-free (and giant!) Mickey waffle with bacon

MJ: Scrambled egg and fruit…and a bite off of everyone’s plate ;) Side note: Kids 2 and under eat free!

I also got coffee and we all shared a pitcher of POG juice (best juice EVER).

The interior details here are outstanding, and I expect nothing less from Disney! I love how they think of everything and weave stories together. Notice the pastry plate…it looks like an artist palate! We could have made a meal from the croissants with the different dipping sauces. I’m not a huge apple muffin fan, but it was DELISH as well as the chocolate chip! Kai’s gluten-free pastries were donuts and chocolate chip muffins, and while he didn’t care much for the muffin, he LOVED the donuts!

All the food was amazing, but the star of the show was that French Toast Brûlée. I would eat that every time and I’m not typically a French toast kind of person!

The character experience here was so fun! We loved how they announced the characters, the rotation was spread out just enough so we had time to get an autograph page ready, and we laughed so much at all of Donald’s dance moves.

When we were done, our server reminded us to go outside and enjoy the terrace, and I 10/10 recommend it! It’s so peaceful out there and you get some incredible views of the parks and resorts you won’t find anywhere else. All in all, I highly recommend doing this at least once, and it is definitely one we will do again!

Step onto the terrace at Disney’s Riviera resort after enjoying your meal at Topolino’s Terrace! Beautiful views of the resort and parks.
